Abstract

As a group, temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain represent a major dental disease affecting nearly 20% of the population. This paper compares the practice patterns of general dentists and dental specialists with the clinical practices of Orofacial Pain dentists relative to the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders. It is clear that much training Neds to be added to both pre-doctoral and specialty dental curriculums and continuing education.
