Abstract

Introduction Primary Mucosal melanomas of the head and neck region are a rare kind of malignancy arising from the melanocytes. The primary melanomas of the paranasal sinuses are extremely unusual and associated with a poor prognosis due to delayed diagnosis. These lesions tend to metastasize and locally invade tissues more than any other malignant tumour of the head and neck region. Case report Here, we present a case of a fifty-seven-year-old male who presented with epistaxis and nasal obstruction. Imaging revealed a soft tissue mass lesion involving the maxillary sinus and nasal cavity with erosion of the floor of right orbit.
